Elections will be held April 25–27, 2025

Softball Austin will hold elections via ElectionBuddy, our secure online voting system, from April 25 to 27, 2025. Voting links will be emailed to all registered, paid members in good standing. Please check or update your email address to ensure you receive your ballot. Contact us if your email address is incorrect and you’re unable to update it.

Important Dates

  • March 23, 2025 – Nominations Begin
    • Members in good standing may submit a nomination for themselves by completing the Candidate Biography Form. The completed form should be emailed to Elections@SoftballAustin.org.
    • Members in good standing may also nominate other members by emailing the name and contact email to Elections@SoftballAustin.org. Individuals who are nominated will be notified and required to accept or decline the nomination.
  • April 13, 2025 – Deadline for Nominations.
  • April 14, 2025 – Official Announcement of All Nominated Candidates.
  • April 25-27, 2025 – Elections start April 25th and close at the end of day April 27th.
  • April 28, 2025 – Announcement of the new board members.

Open Position Descriptions

  • Open Division Assistant Commissioner – The duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Commissioner shall include, but not be limited to:
    • Serve as an official alternate representative of the League to the meetings of NAGAAA, when required. (NAGAAA rules require written approval from the League commissioner if anyone other than League commissioner will serve as the voting representative to NAGAAA.)
    • Oversee play and rules of conduct as it relates to the Open Division.
    • Provide NAGAAA player ratings from the previous year to every team Manager/Coach and the Player Ratings Committee (or Board) prior to the start of League play.
    • Compile and submit all documents to NAGAAA, including:
      • Non-resident player forms
      • Team rosters
      • List of teams and managers
      • NAGAAA conference designations
      • Reservations of slots in the GSWS
      • GSWS reservations
      • Player rating formation
    • Maintain a list of players looking for a team and coordinate with Open Division Coaches/Managers on player placement or team formation.
  • Women’s Division Assistant Commissioner – The duties and responsibilities of the Women’s Assistant Commissioner shall include, but not be limited to:
  • Secretary – The duties and responsibilities of the Secretary shall include, but not be limited to:
    • Compile the minutes of all Board, Council, and Membership meetings.
      • Board Meeting minutes must be distributed to Trustees within ten (10) days.
      • Manager’s Council minutes must be distributed to Trustees and Council members within ten (10) days.
      • Membership minutes must be distributed to Trustees within thirty (30) days and be available to League members upon request.
    • Maintain official records of the IOG and amendments.
    • Maintain all League documents, records, and filings.
    • Maintain a record of all League members and their current mailing and email addresses.
    • Ensure the League maintains membership in NAGAAA and ASANA.
    • File amended Articles of Incorporation and other necessary legal filings.
    • Provide sign-in sheets at applicable League functions and meetings.
    • Coordinate and approve League communications within the League.
  • Competition Coordinator – The duties and responsibilities of the Competition Coordinator shall include, but not be limited to:
    • Coordinate and provide a League playing schedule at least seven (7) days before the season starts.
    • Adjust schedules as needed for events like rainouts.
    • Coordinate scheduling of umpires with the Umpire-in-Chief (UIC) and nominate the UIC for Board approval.
    • Coordinate the timely and accurate collection and posting of League scores, stats, and standings to the website.
    • Oversee collection of roster cards weekly and ensure copies are given to the League Secretary.
    • Plan competition with teams outside the League, with Board approval.
    • Oversee tournament committees authorized by the Board.
    • Coordinate with the Operations Coordinator to ensure field bags are stocked and available weekly.
    • Serve as chair of the Protest Committee.
